Other West End credits include: The Lion in Winter; The Tempest; Flare Path; Waiting for Godot; An Ideal Husband; Ghosts; All’s Well That Ends Well; Stephen Fry’s Cinderella; Becket; Design for Living (Olivier Award); Arsenic and Old Lace and the costumes for Acorn Antiques – The Musical.
On Broadway credits include: Waiting For Godot and No Man’s Land. Stephen received Drama Desk and Tony Award nominations for Indiscretions and won an Olivier Award for the same production at the National Theatre (where it was entitled Les Parents Terribles).
Other designs for the National Theatre include: A Little Night Music; Rose; Marat/Sade; Private Lives; Inadmissible Evidence; Once in a While the Odd Thing Happens and Uncle Vanya.
He has also designed numerous productions for the RSC, where he is an Associate Artist, and for many international theatre and opera companies including WNO, Royal Opera House and Tokyo Globe.
He was Production Designer on Bent (Film Four International/MGM) and Macbeth (RSC/Ch4/Illuminations).
